We all want to feel safe, happy, healthy and hopeful
Right now, too many children, young people and families in Northern Ireland don’t feel like this.
We’re here to make sure your family, and children and young people across Northern Ireland have somewhere they feel they belong.
I'm a parent or carer and looking for support
We know looking after your family can be tough. Whether you need help from a local service for your child, or want to read useful guidance and support, we’ve got your back.
I'm a young person and I’m looking for some help
Does it ever feel like you’re carrying a weight on your shoulders? Whether you need advice, guidance or practical support, we’ve got you.
I’m interested in fostering or adoption
Imagine finally feeling like you belong. If you want to give a child a loving home where they can thrive, we want to help make it happen.
Now’s our chance to build systems that work better for children, young people and families across Northern Ireland.
We support people through the services we run. We also try to help children, young people and families by making sure their voices and experiences are heard in the rooms where decisions are made. The children, young people and families who use our services, as well as the people who work in, and with them, tell us how things need to change. We carry out research to get more understanding. Then we develop policy ideas and campaign so that decision makers change things for the better.
More about us and what we do
Can you imagine the weight a child feels after the death of a loved one? Our child bereavement services help them feel less anxious and alone. So babies and toddlers can thrive, we offer parents and carers advice and support to help them handle the challenges of caring for little ones. When children seeking sanctuary are separated from their families or experience human trafficking, our Independent Guardian Service makes sure there’s someone in their corner acting in their best interests.
We aim to be there for everyone in Northern Ireland who needs us. It might be through our services supporting people facing a particular challenge, or through offering guidance and advice.
Could you give us some of your time?
Volunteer and help change childhoods in all sorts of ways. From working directly with children and young people, to carrying out research or helping customers in our shops, there’s a role you’d be great for.
