Set up a no-strings attached call about fostering

Our values align with the principles of The Promise, Scotland's promise to children and young people who experience being looked after by their local authority that they will grow up loved, safe, and respected. We believe all children and young people should grow up feeling that way and realise their full potential. Learn more about The Promise.

What is fostering?

Foster care provides a safe, secure and stable environment for children and young people who cannot live with their birth family.  When life gets tough or unsafe at home, some children and teenagers need a caring adult to look after them until things can get better. You could be the person helping change their life for the better.

Could you be a foster carer?

There are so many things about you that will make you a great foster carer, but there are a few practical things you need too.

Learn about the help and support we provide foster carers like Sharon.

Sharon and Andrew are foster carers from Glasgow, Scotland. As someone from a large family Sharon was keen to have to have a life filled with children. After fertility treatment didn’t work out, she was inspired by her experience caring for adults with learning disabilities to look into fostering. A decade later they’ve provided a safe and loving home to 10 children.
