What we do
Barnardo's 4U- Miss-U service offers young people who have been reported missing, by their family or guardians, to the police or the local authority the opportunity to have an independent return home interview.
We are able to support children and young people aged 5-25yrs who are the responsibility of the Isle of Wight Local Authority or resident on the Isle of Wight.
Our service also works with children and young people who are Looked After by the Isle of Wight but are placed out area.
We can help with
- We support children and young people who have gone missing/run away from home. Our help includes return-home interviews, so they have a chance to talk about why they ran away, what happened when they were away and how they are feeling now they are back. This is done so things can happen that will make a recurrence less likely.
