What we do
Barnardo’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Service provides mental health and wellbeing support to children and young people aged 5-24 (up to 26 depending on life circumstances) across the whole of Fife.
This service aims to equip young people and their families with the necessary skills to help improve their mental health and overall emotional wellbeing. We offer both 1:1support, some groupwork to support mental health and wellbeing and deliver capacity building for professionals at times throughout the year.
Our 1:1 support is person-centred, and the young people are supported to create and work towards their own goals. This is a short-term service, and we can offer up to 10 therapeutic intervention sessions to support individuals to improve their mental health. We can also offer support to parents to enable them to feel more equipped at supporting and improving their child’s mental health.
Enquiries for our support can be made by anyone (yourself, a parent/carer or professional). Please get in touch to see if we can support you.
We have trained workers who offer a safe space to talk and help children and young people to explore the root causes of their difficulties, whilst promoting healthy coping strategies to help them manage their emotions.

We can help with
- No child should be left to deal with poor mental health alone so we provide services supporting children and young people's emotional health and wellbeing. We have centres where children and young people can visit and have a trained worker they can trust and talk to. We help them build their confidence and get to the root of their difficulties so they can feel safer, happier, healthier and more hopeful.
