Northern Lights

What we do

Barnardos Northern Lights is a residential home on the outskirts of Inverness providing a safe, warm and supportive environment for up to five young people who have had adverse childhood experiences.
The service seeks to improve the lives of these young people through the use of a rights based, trauma informed approach. The staff team seek to enrich the lives of young people placed with us through support and activities aimed at promoting recovery, raising self-esteem, promoting mastery and enabling the young people to have childhood experiences in line with their age and stage of development. The service works in Partnership with The Highland Council to ensure that Educational needs are met.

We can help with

    Residential care

  • Every child should be supported to thrive. We provide specialist care for children with special educational needs (SEN) and other disabilities, including overnight and short-break care. Our services give children and young people an opportunity to be cared for while having fun and socialising with peers in an inclusive space.
