Ukrainian Refugee Service

What we do

Northern Ireland Refugee Resettlement Scheme (NIRRS) is one of two organisations commissioned by the Home Office to ensure people fleeing the conflict in Ukraine and arriving in Northern Ireland under the government’s Homes for Ukraine Scheme will be received in suitable homes for their needs, with people they are happy to live with.
We do this by undertaking and coordinating required background checks and screening potential host homes for suitability. This assists suitable hosts to prepare for the arrival of their guests and staff will subsequently support hosts and guests, when they arrive, to link with local services such as health and education.
After an initial settling in period, should hosts or guests require additional assistance for more difficult issues, we offer a wrap-around support service on a case-by-case basis, which gives vulnerable families access to a dedicated one-to-one staff member who can assist them in resolving complex issues and will advocate on their behalf.
A new Ukrainian Youth Voice group has also been established, to encourage the building of community and to speak out to decision-makers on Refugee and Youth issues

We can help with

    Refugee/asylum seeker services

  • All children, no matter where they’re from, or how they arrived in the UK, deserve to feel safe, happy, healthy and hopeful. We support children and families seeking sanctuary in the UK in a number of different ways. We help provide loving homes for children and young people who arrive on their own and help them get the healthcare and schooling they need. We also give parents practical support so their family can feel safer, happier, healthier and more hopeful.
