What we do
We are a team of support workers with a wide and varied range of direct work experience with children, young people and their families/carers. The Barnardo’s Wolverhampton Star Service is a Wolverhampton support service working therapeutically to support children and families on the edge of care, children in care and care leavers.
We work with children and young people for a period of up to 6 months. During this time we will use a range of innovative therapeutic and evidence based interventions around emotional health and wellbeing, to support young people on a 1-1 basis, where there is a risk of family/home/relationship breakdown.
We are only commissioned to accept referrals directly from allocated social workers and Young Peoples Advisors.
We can help with
- No child should be left to deal with poor mental health alone so we provide services supporting children and young people's emotional health and wellbeing. We have centres where children and young people can visit and have a trained worker they can trust and talk to. We help them build their confidence and get to the root of their difficulties so they can feel safer, happier, healthier and more hopeful.
