You can help change a child’s life at Christmas and beyond

Right now, 1 in 4 children in the UK live in poverty.

Families near you are struggling to afford the basics. As their children go back to school after the holidays, many are worried about how they’ll afford the essentials and children are going back feeling hungry, tired and isolated. In an average classroom, 9 children are living in poverty.

That’s where you come in. Your support gives families a real helping hand. Thanks to people like you, children can start school with a filling breakfast to fuel their day at school so they can concentrate in lessons and have the energy to play with their friends.

Together we can help children and young people feel safer, happier, healthier and more hopeful, by supporting them and their families with specialist services across the UK, raising awareness and campaigning to change the way the system works for the better.

We've been changing childhoods and changing lives for over 150 years, and we'll be here for as long as we're needed thanks to people like you.

Your donation won’t be restricted to a particular project but will go to the services that need it the most.

How your money helps

For every pound we spend (excluding retail costs) approximately:

  • 94p goes on working with the children and young people who need it most
  • Less than 1p goes on investment management costs
  • And the remaining amount - just over 5p - on raising the next £1
