Barnardo’s is proud to join our partners in the End Child Poverty coalition to call on the UK Government to act urgently to address the cost-of-living crisis.
In a statement Barnardo's Chief Executive Lynn Perry MBE said:
"It is unacceptable that we have 3.6 million children in the UK living below the poverty line.
“The cost-of-living crisis means families who previously had to choose between heating or eating are increasingly unable to afford either, and almost two thirds of our frontline staff taking part in a recent survey said they had provided children and young people with food in the last year for fear that they would otherwise go hungry.
"Barnardo’s is proud to join our partners in the End Child Poverty coalition to call on the UK government to act urgently to address the cost-of-living crisis, and we would urge the next Prime Minister to prioritise support for struggling families.”
