The JOBS Project

The journey of becoming successful - a Barnardo's and Amazon collaborative project.

The JOBS Project supports young people (aged 18-29) who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) and facing a range of challenges, to develop the skills and confidence to move forward with the next steps of their lives.

The project provides a foundation for the next steps in young people's chosen career paths, and with dedicated support, we aim to equip young people to feel empowered to move forward.

We have direct employment opportunities available at Amazon Fulfilment Centres, we support young people who want to complete an apprenticeship and we can help find employment in another areas of work. The JOBS Project can help support young people into work, regardless of their starting point and the end destination.

How Barnardo's helped Autumn find a job through the JOBS Amazon partnership

Autumn is one of the hundreds of young people taking part in the JOBS program in partnership with Amazon.

The JOBS project gives young people like Autumn an opportunity to develop skills and get started in the world after leaving care. Autumn shares her experience of life and employment after being in care.

Growing up in foster care didn't really help my mental health, and I suffered a lot. I didn't feel fit to be in foster care and struggled to settle in. The JOBS programme has really helped give me focus. We had sessions around abuse, alcohol, health and nutrition and more practical site trainings around hazards and safety. We covered so much, and had a chance to visit the Amazon FC and see what it would be like. I felt well prepared. It focuses my mind on something better, and I feel like I am on a good path. I enjoy work and I enjoy being in the team, I have hope for the future now and want to continue working here.
