We believe we can help every vulnerable child transform their life.
150 years of helping children has taught us that some children and young people need more focused support.
That's why we're proud to run two special needs schools for children who have learning difficulties and challenging behaviour:
- Meadows School in Kent provides education and care for young people who have social, emotional and behavioural difficulties
- High Close School in Berkshire caters for pupils with a range of special educational needs arising from complex social, emotional, behavioural and other difficulties
Our broad curriculum at these schools is tailored to individual needs to help our pupils achieve their full potential.
Each school has dedicated teachers helping the young people throughout their stay. Some pupils stay at school overnight, some don't - but either way there are staff there to care and support every step of the way.
I had a very difficult time as a child and teenager and from the ages of 13 to 15 I was not in education. My parents tried to get me a special needs school place, but were denied. Eventually Meadows was recommended... I felt as though I finally had a chance to access education - I felt until then it would probably never happen. Now I'm doing a degree at the University of Sussex and have my own flat.
