Our See, Hear, Respond programme was a unique partnership led by Barnardo’s to support vulnerable, ‘hidden’ children, who were struggling as a result of COVID-19, but did not qualify for statutory support.
See Hear Respond ran between June 2020 and March 2021 and was funded by the Department for Education. Through the programme, we:
-
Helped more than 100,000 children and their families
-
Allocated funding to a consortium of 87 partners – all of whom were charities and community-based organisations.
-
Provided more than £250,000 worth of crisis funds for families to access basic needs such as food, heating, clothing, white goods, transport and digital access.
-
Supported children and their families with therapeutic support, crisis work, reintegration into education, place-based work, group work and advice & support.
